Peter Avery (10 out of 10 ) Outstanding performances by Julie Andrews, Dick van dyke, the two children and their father, makes this fill a superb family flick. The script is believable, the songs have not waned over the 45 years since the movie's release and you can watch it over and over again. Van Dyke as the chimmy sweep shows a side to man who is far more talented and versitle than he is given credit for. As for dame Julie andrews, what a treasure she is.

This is one of my all-time favourites; the songs are superb; the choreographies are great, the acting is splendid and Julie Andrews' voice and charisma is something that captures audiences every time you watch tyhe film again. I, for one; have seen it over 100 times since I was 4 years old. I'm currently 50 and still enjoy it as the very first time.
